The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association is presenting the 57th annual Wrangler Roping Fiesta October 28-31, 2010. We host four days of calf roping, steer roping and double mugging.
Champions past and present will invade San Angelo for the 57th annual Wrangler Cowboy Roping Fiesta, October 28th - 31st.
The roping weekend kicks off Thursday, Oct. 28th with the preliminary double mugging contest in the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena at 1:00pm. Top 20 teams qualify for the World Championship on Oct. 31st. The public is invided to come watch the action free of charge.
Preliminary calf ropers take center stage on Friday, Oct. 29th. The preliminary roping offers top five finishers an invitation into the Wrangler Cowboy Roping Fiesta calf roping Saturday. The prelim roping starts at 10:00am. The public is invited to come watch the action free of charge.
Calf roping continues on Saturday, Oct. 30th at 1:00pm. 40 of the top ropers in the country will compete for prize money throughout the day. Mixed into the afternoon will be the headline event match roping. Names have yet to be announced but be assured the names will be big. Roping to be held in the outdoor San Angelo Roping Arena.
Jake Hooker and Outsiders will entertain fans in the Wells-Fargo Pavilion Saturday night at 9:00pm. The dance is BYOB.
Sunday the spotlight will change to the steer roping and double mugging events. Senior steer roping will begin at 8:00am in the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena. Start time for the main event in the outdoor arena is a Sunday friendly 1:00pm. Will feature top 35 steer ropers competing for over $35,000. The Double Mugging World Championship will also be held.
While on the fairgrounds be sure to check out the Cowboy Collectible Show in the coliseum. Western fashions, jewelry, tack, art, furniture and much more will be on display and on sale. The show is free and open to the public.
